A tabletop photo session
Look twice.
One still object, a phone and three small choices. Keep both versions; the first picture can still be your favourite.
First picture: 00-04 · Take one view of your table object. Keep it.
Find the light
06-11 / 1 cue · 2 make · 2 compare
Point to a lit side and a shaded side. Make two views with the object a similar size. Turn the object or change the phone angle. If needed, try the host's paper-shadow method.
Compare: Where did the light or shadow change? Which version do you prefer?
Give one thing the lead
11-16 / 1 cue · 2 make · 2 compare
Photograph the main object overlapping the second. Move the phone sideways or move the second object to separate their edges; take another picture.
Compare: Ask before naming your subject: what do you notice first? Did the change help?
Leave one thing out
16-21 / 1 cue · 2 make · 2 compare
Make a view with both objects and some table. Check all four edges. Change angle or distance to leave the second object out; take another picture.
Compare: What disappeared? What useful context did you lose? Tighter is not always better.
21-28 / Keep one comparison
Pick two views from one activity, or your first and a later view of the same subject. Let a partner describe what they see first. Choose for yourself.
